Duty Days

CPPG is a cooperative and duty mothers/fathers are responsible for their duty days.  There will be two or three duty parents at the centre each morning.  Duty parents should arrive at least 15 minutes before playgroup opens to:

  • Pick up keys at the front office and unlock and set up the rooms

  • Buzz in the members arriving using the phone above the sign-in desk.

At the front desk you date and sign the attendance book and put nametags on with masking tape.

Clean up begins 15 minutes before closing.  Everyone picks up toys and puts them back where they belong.  The duty parents then proceed to:

  • Wipe down Arts and Crafts area and playdoh toys

  • Vacuum all areas

  • Empty waste baskets and check "snacking area" for anything out of place

  • Take out all garbage (ensure that bags are tightly closed)

  • Ensure windows are closed and lights are off

  • If you are unable to do your duty day, you are responsible for finding a replacement. Ask someone with a duty day in the next few weeks to switch with you.  When you make the switch the replacing parent changes the "changes sheet" at playgroup. Scheduled activities must be fulfilled by the parents on both days of the switch.

In the case of last minute illness, please notify the other duty parent(s) and call Fran Unsworth before 8:00AM on your duty day.  Mimi will keep a list of the members unable to do their duty days and you will be asked to fill in later in the year.  As we have a waiting list for new members, two missed duty days will result in dismissal from playgroup.  So remember your duty days please!

Although playgroup is open in the afternoon, there are no scheduled duty parents. Therefore everyone present must share the responsibility of opening, cleaning, locking up and returning the key.

Please be advised that as duty person you are expected from 8:45AM until 11:00AM
